Since we are goind to open up the source code (sooner or later) and the documentation is ... erm ... lacking in certain areas, we decided to use doxygen (http://www.doxygen.org/) to auto generate the development documentation.
We don't know when we will release the code, but this should give you a good feeling how things are done.
